A very interesting day. Got to meet our newly assigned sitter for Mom & spent the day with them both. On a first impression, I love her! But in actually, time will tell. She sounds like she will be a good fit for us all and has even invited me to go walking with her.Stayed w/ Mom till about 5 and we had a chance to talk lots about the things that have been going on. She was actually surprised and hurt when I told her some of the things that had been reported. Mom actually became furious and asked me if I knew "who" did it. I reminded her that DSS keeps it all anon and therefore denies us the right to "face our accusers." That really made her angry and now she is looking more at the people who come into her house. She did make the statement that she is getting tired of showing people how much food she has in her freezer and how many clothes she has in her closets. Oh well, I have it down to 3 people and will slowly eliminate them from the scene till it all stops. Right now Mom seems happy with our new sitter & that makes me happy.

I\'m very impressed with your honesty with your Mom. I do the same with mine, even when I know she won\'t remember and/or, may not understand...but I try to put it in her terms, anyway, out of respect and because I\'m never sure how much she\'ll absorb and how much she won\'t at any particular time...but I believe continuing to be honest with her nurtures a bond of dignity between us.
And, your new sitter...well, I know you\'d be honest if you weren\'t delighted with her. I like you\'re reserve, though, that you\'re prepared for whatever lessons Time has to deliver on her. After all the sitter experience you\'ve had, I\'d be surprised if you were any less realistic.
I do find it interesting that a sitting agency trumps our constitutional rights. I\'d never before considered this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Food for thought!
