i had to write again,, i saw my hand dr. today and was given three options for the issue i have with it, 1) take ibuprofen the rest of my life- not an option. 2) to have shots put in it every 6 months...ok maybe. and 3) to surgicaly remove the bone at the base of my thumb. it would be a 3 month recovery rate. not sounding good. so i am trying the shot and will see within a week if it is the way to go. i know how i react to the shots in the past so if it stops working in days, i will never make it 6 mos. that will leave me with number 3. so i would like your opinion of what you think i should do. ok..hope to hear from you soon...jaime

Yikes... sounds like the lesser of three evils. I am not sure what to say. I hope you find the right one.
i took the shot and if it works for a few days i will know that it won\'t last 6 mos, so therefore i would go for #3. I even told him that. he is a little concerned because when my thumb was reconstructed in 98 it didn\'t respond like he wanted and took too long to heal. this would be a harder surgery to bounce back from at least 3 mos min. to use it. i wish it was my left hand then i wouldn\'t even wait. thanks for being there for me...jaime
