Day 6

Still haven't pulled. I've already noticed some regrowth in the areas that I pulled from last time, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how little time it took for this to happen--especially since I'm not currently on any medicine or special shampoo.
So I feel pretty good about all that. But today, I had a conversation with my mom that took away a lot of the joy and excitement I was feeling. She told me that her hair had gotten really long, but that she wasn't going to cut it so that we could go get our hair done together when I see her in December. (This of course being a very unsubtle attempt on her part to find out more about my own hair). She then led the conversation to my hair and kept asking me how long it had gotten, what it looked like, etc. etc.
I think she's expecting it to be really long and pretty--not a single strand missing. But only recently, I got my hair cut really short. She's going to be so disappointed when she sees me. She's going to freak out.
Ugh.
My sister also recently got her hair cut. She has really long, thick, gorgeous hair. She keeps complaining about how she hates the haircut, and how she can't wait for it to grow out soon. It makes me want to punch her in the face. You'd think she'd be more sensitive, since she knows about my trich and how much it affects me, but noooo. That would be too humane.
Family. Grrr.
