Happy 2007 from DailyStrength!

SITE SPEED ISSUES
We know that the site has been slow lately, and we apologize and beg you to bear with us, as we're working night and day to improve performance.
If you're curious, the reason that the site has been slow is because DailyStrength was the subject of a major story in the Wall Street Journal last week. We didn't know the story was coming, and thousands of new folks came to check us out. We're thrilled to have all these new members, and we're installing new computers and software to keep up with y'all.
Expect to see ongoing speed improvements throughout the week. This is our #1 priority.
NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS?
I'm a big fan of making new year's resolutions (I wish I was as good about keeping them), and like many others I know, I use the new year as a kick in the pants to set new goals for myself.
This year, why not use DailyStrength as a written reminder of the things you'd like to accomplish in 2007? Trying to lose weight? Stop smoking? Just be a better person? Write it down in your journal, and let the ongoing support of others help you to reach your goals.
NEW FEATURE: RECOMMENDATIONS
Here's a sneak preview for those of you who take the time to read my notes. In the coming week, we'll be rolling out completely new Discussion boards, which will now include Advice and Recommendations functions. These new features will greatly improve your ability to rate, review and find doctors, therapists, resources and more.
Also coming soon are improvements to Latest Activity, Chat, Goal Setting and much much more.
MEMBER IN NEED
2TEENBOYS has reported to us that her teenage son has been missing since 12/10/06. He was last seen in San Francisco, and she has asked for help.

AND FINALLY...
We're expanding our team, buying bigger and faster computers, and getting ready for a big 2007. We're so happy that you've chosen to be a member of our community, and we feel a deep responsibility to continue to improve so that we can help more people. We are now more than 7,000 members strong...with each new member, our power to help others and provide support only increases.
We hope we can provide support to you this year, and in turn we hope you can provide support for someone else.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for the update Doug. :) I don\'t spend a lot of time of here but was wondering why it had been so slow lately. Any thoughts on bringing on board any mainline medical doctors with some holistic/naturopath leanings? Great news about the growth of DS this year.
this has become one of my main support groups and i want to thank you and josh for all your hard work its much appreciated!
I just joined within the last week and it\'s become my number one site to check everyday! The support and encouragement I\'m getting is wonderful, thank you so much!
Doug, I have been having issues of being logged off--I will be logged on and looking at friends list, then try to jump back to give hugs, etc, & have to re-logon again. Hopefull this was related to user volume you describe. Last occurrence was yesterday 1/2/07 afternoon.
Otherwise I am very happy with this site. I look forward to the changes you mention.
Thanks--it has been a lifeline for me.
Ann
