Huh??
My body sure doesn't let me get complacent about things anymore. Early this morning I woke up with a very sore left foot. The area around the ball of the left foot was very sore and,as far as I know, it was for no good reason. I checked my foot to see if I may have picked up a splinter or piece of glass but there was nothing. I hobbled around on it for most of the day but the foot became more sore, red and swollen. I was worried that it might be an infection so (after my wife nagged me into it) I went in to see the Nurse Practitioner at my Doctor's office ( the big guy had long since gone home). They tend to keep the offices very cold so of course I coughed a bit. She initially checked me out for that but I reassured her that this goes on all the time and I was breathing OK. She listened to my lungs before she was satisfied (good thorough job) and we were then finally able to deal with my poor foot ...which was the reason that I came. She looked at the poor swollen thing and she in turn reassured me that it was not an infection.(Phew!!) We (or rather she) also ruled out gout since my big toe was just fine. She thinks that I may have a crack or chipped bone there. She asked me if I had hit my foot on something and I could not remember anything. they xrayed the foot and are supposed to call me back in a day or two. Given the possibilities, I would be Ok if it's just a cracked bone. I sure don't know how it happened though. Oh well, nothing to do but wait...and keep the foot elevated. (No dancing tonight) Tom
