9/10/2007My brother and his family came for a picnic/barbecue at my house yesterday. My four nieces are all young adults but are real live wires. It was a lot of fun watching them interact with each other. My son and daughter as well as various dates also were there. We put up the net and played badminton in the back yard. Later we played volleyball. What everyone lacked in talent they made up for with enthusiasm. I was drawn into the game briefly but couldn't breathe right so I mostly sat on the sidelines. I provided a running commentary on the play and the skill (?) of the participants. I felt like one of the old men from the muppets who sit in the balcony and boo everything. that's kind of fun.It provided a nice ending for the summer. Now I need to get a beer. Commentating is dry work.Be well, tom

The picnic sounds like great fun. I too love watching my grown children and their friends/spouses interact. I especially love to see them laughing and playing. Our family has endured some tough times in the last few years and the joy is especially welcome.

Enjoy!
