8/24/2007"Just as I was getting out...they pull me back in!"  Al Pacino said that (or something like that) in Godfather III. Now what, you may ask ,does a statement referring to organized crime have to do with my journal? Good question! My answer?...not much. the tenuous connection is this..just as I think I'm getting a handle on my asthma ,something happens to pull me back in  to my new reality. For instance, today some storms came through our area bringing some welcome relief from the heat. It seemed safe enough to go to the store. I did my shopping without a problem but as I got in my car to go home, it wouldn't start. I walked around the parking lot in the rain for quite a while before I found some one to give me a jump. Once the car was started, I went to a repair shop for a new battery. they took about an hour to finish the job. At last I was able to go home. In all I was gone maybe 2.5 hours.Once home, I began to feel terrible. I was run down and very nearly had another stupid asthma attack! I am not at all happy about how my lack of stamina limits me. I mean, 2.5 hours is nothing! I can't do much nowadays and it is very frustrating. Seriously planning to do anything is on hold until I have more control of this. Oh well, I have a bunch of doctors trying to help me. Right now though, it's back to the old drawing board. A more pleasant development is the cooler weather. I hope it stays for a bit. I'll be able to walk some  and work on my stamina. At least that's the plan. Before you know it, I may challenge the Kenyans and Ethiopians  for the lead in the Boston Marathon. Ahh, probably not. Even if I could ,I know that I wouldn't want to jog 26 miles. ( I think I just heard a collective sigh of relief from the Ethiopians and Kenyans. Don't worry fellas, you're safe)I guess that's enough meandering for now. I'm feeling a bit better. ( It's amazing how my "easy chair therapy" helps in my recovery). I hope you all are doing great. Be well, tom
