7/24/2007the weather has remained just outstanding around here. I'm feeling so-so but at least I'm not coughing. I spent the day driving my oldest son around. He is up from Joplin and has no car. Just like the old days, it was "Dad can you give me a ride?" and then "Dad, can you pick me up?" I didn't really mind. I don't get to see him much and this gave us some extra time together. He is the only one of my three who is in a relationship. But the girl he is seeing is in school to be a nurse so who knows whether that romance will pan out. I must have been too convincing when the kids were younger. I told them all that I was too young to be a grandfather. But that was some time ago. Now that the crew are 24, 28 and 30 maybe I'll tell them it's OK...but only after they are in a stable situation, both professionally and emotionally. Hmm, on second thought maybe I won't tell them. Oh well, is anybody ever really ready for parenthood? If they're like me, they'll have to learn on the job. Not too much going on so I'll close for now.Be well, tom

It\'s too bad you can only learn to be a parent by parenting. People should have a license to have children with lessons in \"What are you will to change or give up for your child.\" My daughter is a prime example. You could easily end up raising your grandchildre and get to do it all over again and again.
I hope your feeling okay.
