7/8/2007I had a great time last night. Julie wanted to go to "Live at the Levee". this is a summer series of entertainment that St.Louis puts on each year. For 6 consecutive weekends in the summer various entertainers come in and perform at a stage set up on the Arch grounds, down by the riverfront. the music is followed by a fireworks display. Last night's performer was Emmylou Harris. She put on a great show and the fireworks were fun. I am really enjoying this aspect of retirement. While I was still working I never dared to attend a concert, whether outside or inside. I was always paranoid about being drug tested at work and ,since marijuana smoke is occasionally in the air at concerts, I just did not go. Now I guess I can make up for lost time.It promises to be another scorcher today, but, hey, it's summer... It's supposed to be hot. On the upside, I really enjoy getting out and all the choices that summer brings. As long as there is no air quality alerts, it's a wonderful time of year. (Maybe I'm just a misplaced beach boy...surf's up, dude.)Next Sunday night Julie has us going to the Fox theater to see the musical "the Lion King". I'm not as keen on this as Julie (I want to play outside!!) but she humors me enough and it should be good. I think that my biggest complaint is getting dressed up for the theater. (Outdoor events don't have a dress code.)I'm feeling a little peppier as you can tell by the length of this entry. I hope that you are feeling good too.Be well,tomp.s. My pulmonary doctor's office called to remind me of my appointment with them on Monday. I told the girl that the doctor said that he did not want to see me until I had been evaluated by the lung center in August. She insisted that I needed to come in. Even though it's probably just a paper work mistake, I guess I'll go. Worst that can happen is he'll ask what I'm doing there. I can then reply "Darned if I know"....besides I certainly have the time...and what's a week without a doctor's visit?  (Just between you and me..I'm a pretty popular guy in the medical community)Be well,tom
