6/28/2007Bring the curtain down, it's over.I had planned to work through Saturday but that's not going to happen.I called my PCP and told him about my recent chest pains and palpitations. He had me come in for an examination today. After an EKG , he consulted with me. He told me that though the EKG was normal and my chest pain was probably due to sore muscles, he still wanted me to go to cardiology and schedule myself to wear a harness to monitor my heart activity for 24 hours. I am scheduled to do this starting on Monday. In the meantime he said it would not be a good idea to return to my job until after the test. As a matter of fact, he thought that it was a bad idea. Since I retire as of Sunday, that is that. I called in to work and told them I would not be in and they were less than thrilled about it. I'm sorry that they were inconvenienced but it could not be helped. Oh well, it's only 2 shifts that we're talking about. I hope it doesn't pose too much of a hardship on my coworkers. Good luck to them.tomorrow I go for blood tests. On Monday I go in to be placed in that halter monitor for 24 hours. Oh well, every retiree needs a hobby.Be well, tom

Maybe you can find something out after this latest test, something good and you can start enjoying your retirement.
