5/7/2007 Part II
I received a bit of good news from the county
retirement dept. As of July 1st they are initiating a PLOP program. New retirees could opt to receive 1 or 2 years pension in advance.
their monthly benefits would be reduced for the duration by a percentage based on how much of an advance they received. Now this is good news for me because it would help bridge the gap until I'm 62 when social security would kick in. the combination would provide me with about 80 percent of my current income AND.. I would be able to leave my savings alone. Not a bad deal.
I would still prefer to keep on working (a guy's gotta do something) but not if it's going to drastically affect my health. We shall see.
Shoot, even good news sets me off. I became so happy at this development I had a severe coughing fit. Got it back under control with another breathing treatment. (Hello nebulizer)
I am still pumped about this development, although after this morning I will curb my enthusiasm a bit. So just call me,
Mildly pleased,
tom
p.s.
Have a great day. I did. (Oops, too much emotion. Have a reasonable day. Ah..to hell with it. It's worth a cough or two.) Have a Great Day!!
In the words of the great Homer..(Simpson, not some dead greek!) ...WOOHOO!!

Mildly pleased, you\'re a NUT. I hope you don\'t win the lottery. Julie would be a very rich widow.
