Here it is 4:30 am and I'm up surfing the net. For the past week my sleep has been intermittent at best. I guess it's the medication.

I'll go like a whirlwind for brief spurts and then suddenly crash. It makes it hard to really get anything done.

My poor pulmonologist was subjected to the "Wrath of the Angry Spouse : Revenge of Julie!" yesterday. (I knew that this would happen when she took me by the hand to my visit with him on thursday) At that visit he prescribed a nebulizer for me and a prescription for albuterol and saline.(During the visit Julie cross examined him like a prosecutor)

the nebulizer arrived at the house but when I tried to get the precription filled there was a problem. the pharmacy said that
they had no saline solution for mixing with the albuterol. they tried to contact the doctor to see if he would approve the albuterol in the new premixed dispensers.these required no extra saline and contained the same medicine. Of course he was off on Friday this week.(the man does enjoy his leisure time)

I had been coughing again and my throat was sore but I didn't think it was a big deal. I went back home figuring they could check again on Monday. I mean I've lived without the stuff this long, what's a couple of more days?

About an hour later, I heard the phone ring in the other room. My wife answered it so I went back to what I was doing.(Nothing) then I heard a business like tone creep into her voice. (Never a good sign) It seems she had called the doctor's service while I was upstairs and had them have the doctor call the house. She proceeded to give the poor doc "whatfor" before I could get to the phone. Made it sound as if I was in mortal peril or something. But I'll give her credit. She got the prescription change approval.

Later last night I used the nebulizer and it was great on my dry throat. Julie was right and didn't mind reminding me of it.(I hate when that happens) She said "What's the sense in suffering all week end? He should have given you the right prescription to start with!" She was right again.(I really hate when that happens!)there'll be no living with her for a while. All disagreeements will now end with "Who was right about contacting the doctor?" for the foreseeable future. While I dislike poor losers, smug winners are much worse. (Especially for us poor losers)

I hate to admit it but I'm glad that she did it, although I won't admit it to her. (She's already quite pleased about it.) It's good that she's on my side.

Feeling better,
tom

Yea for Julie! Maybe this treatment will help curb you attacks, which seem to be becoming more frequent. Doctors should be reachable. It\'s one thing I dislike about doctors in general. I hope you catch up on your sleep. It\'s very important that you rest so your body can heal itself.
