I just finished a 12 hour shift. the day shift Captain was still sick. thank goodness the afternoon Captain was able to come in early and split the shift with me. 16 hours straight would not have been pretty. I used my inhaler every 4 hours and struggled through. I felt a lttle weird after about 10 hours but did not cough.
I'm really beat but I still have to work tonight before I reach my off days. Hope my relief comes in as scheduled. I don't think I can handle any more overtime. Being classified as an essential staff member can be tough.
8 more hours. A piece of cake. Hope we have a quiet night. Probably not though, it's Saturday night when all the drunks roll in..Sigh..
Still, it is just 8 more hours.
