My wife ran out of gas on the highway today. She called and I grabbed the gas can and headed out to meet her.
(Side note: What is it about gassing up her car that is so alien to her nature? I guess she likes living on the edge. If her poor car ever had more than a quarter of a tank of gas it would die of shock!)
Back on topic, I stopped at a gas station to fill the can and while I was at the pump I had another coughing attack. Maybe the combination of gas fumes and cold air was the culprit. I used my inhaler and sat in my car for a few minutes and was OK. Seeing my reaction, Julie added the gas to her car herself.
I was in a hurry so I left my scarf at home. (Note to self:Leave a scarf in car!!)
I followed her back to the gas station and she added some more gas to her car. Who knows, maybe she splurged and got a half tankful.
All's well that ends well.
