Today I received a call early in the morning from the Social security department “Happy Valentines Days”. The content of the call was to ask some questions and also to inform me of some very good news. I have been approved for SSI but it will still take up to 6 months before I get on SSDI if they approve me for that. I figure since they already approve me for SSI that it will be a good chance that I will get approved for SSDI. All I have to do is swing by there tomorrow after my PDOC department and show them my birth certificate. I know I don’t get too much from SSI but hey something is better than nothing. I also will be approved for medicade. I wonder what that will cover? I am happy that I am getting help from the state this quick. I never could imagine that I am getting my first check in 7 days.
