2014 is upon us...
It's hard to believe 2013 is drawing to an end and 2014 is right around the corner. It seems like just yesterday I was making New Year's "resolutions" and wondering what things would be like at the end of the year. Would I finally stick to them this year or be the same spot I've been in for countless years? Well, I didn't stick to any of them. I didn't accomplish a damn thing on that list. In fact I took a 20 pound step backwards. Surprisingly, I'm not upset about it as I usually am, because I know 2014 is going to be my year. No more New Year's resolutions. I'm going to be 21 years-old, and I want it to be a new start for me. That's less than a years time away but I know I can get my life on track before then.
Next year I will be transferring to a college a hundred miles away from home. I will finally be out on my own. I don't want what's suppose to be a fun time in college to be a miserable, self conscious, self-pity time. I don't want to be that student who doesn't leave her dorm room besides going to classes. I want to make friends and make GOOD memories that will last a lifetime. I want to open myself up to the possibility of letting another human being into my life. Not saying it will happen. I'm not too keen on wanting a relationship, but if I'm more secure in who I am I don't see why not. I can't do any that if I weigh 230 pounds and still can't drive.
I know I've said this countless times and here I am, but I wholeheartedly believe it's because I never truly believed I could do it. Now, I believe in myself and mark my words; Next November I will be a whole new person. I will no longer be the Megan I despise so. I will be the Megan I was meant to be.

Great Journal! You can do this!
Woohoo! Love the positive attitude! Here is to hoping that 2014 will be the year for all of us because I certainly did not accomplish my 2013 resolutions. I also took some steps backwards.
Love this journal, Megan! 2014 sounds like a year of a lot of changes for you, which can be exciting and a little scary too. Join the club when it comes to not meeting resolutions. : ) That\'s why I don\'t make them anymore, and instead simply strive to do the best I can every day.
As much as I enjoyed this journal, I felt sad when I read that you despise the current Megan. The Megan I\'ve come to know is pretty darn AWESOME! Sure, you have weight to lose (don\'t we all?!?), but that is only one small part of the total you. You are positive, encouraging, friendly, intelligent, and funny. Please don\'t let one shortcoming cause you to discount your many positives. My wish for you in 2014 is that you come to see yourself for the great person you are! : )
