My daughter has been going to swimming lessons. I am so proud of her. She has had a fear of water for some time and it's nice to see her pushing past her fear so she can learn some basics. She had swim lessons when she was very little, but she definitely needed a refresher.
Anyway, I took the dog with us when I took her on Thursday because the dog desperately needed out and about and some exercise. The park where the pool is has a bunch of good trails. Sadly, I am an idiot and managed to slip on some pine needles on a steep hill and fall squarely on my butt. I have been in agonizing pain since. I am sure most of it is "just" pulled muscles. No biggie, on that front. However, I am terrified that it may have done damage because of where the disc was removed. I was told the bones would fuse together over time (there's literally NO disc at all left) which would make that point rigid and unmoving - but it also means NO cushion from impacts like, you know, falling.
It's probably nothing to worry about, but I am still scared, which I am sure exacerbates the pain I am in. Gave up on trying to "breathe through the pain" and took Tramadol. It made the pain almost tolerable through the day but we were visiting friends until late tonight and I was far, far overdue for my dose so I'm back to miserable. Yay for being a dummy. I should have taken my pain meds with me to our friends' house. Oh well.
Gonna try a heating pad and see if that helps. Wish me luck.

Omg!! You poor thing! I feel
So bad that you got hurt!! If ice helps,
It is likely soft tissue injury.
Huge
Hugs not huge
I feel like such an idiot. I knew better. I grew up on slippery mountain trails. At least it\'s just muscle. Even if it takes a few weeks, I know it will easily heal. Thank goodness!
Allora, you are not an idiot or a dummy! I hope the Tramadol and heating pad helps. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Hugs!
