Update
Hi, Gals! How great to be on DS again. I think of all my friends on here all the time, but have been absolutely incapacitated. My fatigue and lightheadedness turned into ravishing nausea last week, and I have been unable to stand, sit, or walk for more than 2 minutes at a time since then. I have been sooo useless to the world, but James commends me for doing a lot of good "baking." We had an ultrasound last week that showed the babies happy and healthy. I am glad they're happy. I'm learning the ropes of how this new body works -- needing food every 3 hours, feeling nausea to signal hunger, and needing to eat proteins and sugars as constant snacks to regulate my blood sugar. Every time I roll on my side I hiccup twice. It's a completely new machine, my body. I feel like I'm just learning to drive a car with a manual transmission. I can't wait to actually make it out of the driveway some day. In the meantime, my mom is coming over every day to do the laundry, put the dishes in the dish washer, and minister to my neverending nutritional needs. What would I do without her? I am so baffled that the human race has made it through this for millions of years. I guess men's desire for sex and women's desire for babies makes the system go forward. Wow. I feel honored to be in service to my own children. I ache for my friends who haven't yet had this gift... whose vomit has only ever been for their own body's benefit! Take care, and I hope to be back in touch soon. Keep fighting the good fight. Love, Kay

I am glad the babies are doing well. I hope the sickness goes away soon. How wonderful of your Mom to be helping so much. It is amazing how humans have been doing this for so long. My heart breaks when I think about all the couples who did not have the medical stuff we have now and never had the chance to have a child of their own. We are blessed in many ways. Take care! You and babies (and James) are in my prayers.
Oh, I would have killed for help like your mom in my first trimester! It is a great thing, this human body. It amazes me of what it\'s capable of. My husband still talks about my labor and delivery as if he saw a human magic trick- he\'s in total awe of what women are capable of! And he should be- I hope your DH is just as awe-struck, because what you\'re doing for those little peanuts is truly amazing!

I\'m glad you\'re ok...but sorry you\'re so incapacitated! Hooray for moms for taking care of us--imagine you doing the same thing for your twins one day far in the future....
Hang in there....once you get into your second trimester your pregnancy will be a lot more enjoyable I promise! When you can, drink Ensure. It will help your body get the nutrients you need during those tough nausea episodes.
For both of my full term pregnancies, the sickness and neverending exhaustion went away at three months. It\'s worth every second of it! (Plain, blah, unsalted crackers were my main staple for the first trimester.)

I\'m so happy to hear that the babies are doing well! What wonderful news! I\'m sorry that you\'re feeling so bad, but they do say that the nausea is a sign of a healthy pregnancy! How incredibly loving of your mom to come over everyday and help out. Hang in there, my preggo friend.
I\'m sorry that being prego has taken such a toll on you. Sounds like you have an wonderful mom, what a blessing. My mom lives an hour away so I don\'t get to see her as much as I would like. Just remember it will as be worth it! :) God Bless you and your babies.
It\'s so exciting to hear your progress, even if you are in the midst of nausea right now. It seems like you are relishing every moment of it! I\'m so happy for you. :)
It\'s all so worth it, isn\'t it?! Mothers totally give up their bodies for their children. Funny thing was after my boy was born, I missed being pregnant for about 2 months following. Weird? Anyway, time will pass quickly and your 2nd trimester will be a blast. It was my favorite!
Congrats!! How wonderful that you\'ll be double blessed with not one but two children. You\'ve given so many of us strength and courage to keep fighting for our precious someday children. Take good care of yourself and your precious babies.
The nausea train will stop eventually. Just feed the engine constantly! I hope you start feeling better soon and so glad your babies are happy!
I sort of miss sharing my body still, but it\'s worth being able to give him a squeeze and look at his face.
