Day 2
I just read all the comments to my last entry. DS is just amazing, isn't it? I was telling James about how dearly I love all of my friends on here, even if I don't know their full names or where they're from... You are absolutely the people who have brought me through infertility. I could never, never have done this without you. I'm very nervous. I keep thinking about how 20% of all 35 year olds miscarry. And I just crossed over into 36! But James says we had 8 embryos to choose from from a very good litter, and we got the best two. So he says we've already had our chance for bad things to happen, and anyway, he's in the mood to think positively. I suppose I might as well. I'd be devastated if anything happened now anyway. Might as well acknowledge how happy I am. Though it really seems unreal. I keep telling James stuff about "his pregnant wife." And he keeps kissing my belly. Suddenly I have an aversion to all things unnatural, like my precious Diet Caffein-free Coke, and I want to read the labels on everything. Meanwhile, the fantastic news is that James immediately joined Weight Watchers yesterday when he found out. After a week in RI with his overweight and thus very immobile parents, he is bound and determined not to be that kind of parent. He finally stepped on the scale and found that he had gained something like 30 pounds since Thanksgiving. Of LAST YEAR! Unbelievable. He attributes it to job stress, but the IVF couldn't have helped. And so we're all healthy and happy. And I'm going back to bed! Much, much love to you.
