Update
Over the weekend I went to my grandmother's house in Texas, to celebrate her 95th birthday! She's getting rickety, and she hesitates to go down steps that don't have a handrail, but otherwise she's fit as a fiddle, living by herself and even driving! I love seeing her. This time I had to fight for her attention as 3 of her daughters (my mom and aunts) were there too, but it was still great. I started my Lupron shots last Friday, on the plane (for a description of this event, see my blog at www.achievingconceiving.blogspot.com). I'm happy and just a touch concerned with the fact that these shots are getting routine. This morning before work I ate my breakfast, took some clothes out of the dryer and put them away, emptied the dish washer and put some new dishes in there, and even wandered outside to look at my husband's garden. That's a ton of activity for me. I was waiting for my husband to be ready to leave. On the way out the door, I realized that I hadn't taken my various morning pills and my shot. Doh! I'm anticipating the Need to Nap coming on, now that the Lupron has started. I've officially given notice at my "temporary" job (which has stretched out 6 months already, after having been estimated that it would last only one month). Next Friday, June 6, will be my last day. I'm an art quilter (see that website: www.FiberOfHerBeing.com) and I just can't do law stuff AND go through IVF... and finish a lot of quilt commissions that I've been putting off for a long time now. So my husband has generously agreed that we can take a break on paying off the credit card/IVF, so I can regain a little sanity and get to actually rest for this, our third IVF cycle. God bless him. In fact, today he said we should celebrate my getting to go back to my company. He's thinking of it as a victory -- as opposed to me, feeling bad for having to quit my depressing money-making pursuits. One quilt that I'm looking forward to doing soon will be for my friend Cassandra. Her mom died suddenly a few months ago, and Cassandra gave me lots of her dresses and other fabrics that her mom had bought and was planning to make stuff with. I'm going to make them all into a blanket for Cassandra, either to hang on the wall, or when she needs, to wrap around her. It's stuff like this that really makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing in life. And in the last couple of years, when I've needed so much comforting myself, it makes me really happy to get to comfort other people. So woo-hoo. Napping and quilting?! What could be better?

Hooray for less stress and more rest and hobbies! I think you and I are uber lucky in our mates--one of my parttimes gigs is winding down and Lee is not rushing me AT ALL to find something else (or increase my clinic hours) because he\'s just nice like that. He wants me rested and happy and relaxed. Money be damned. And of course he vetoed Kinkos from the get-go. Here\'s to quilts, naps, and our generous and loving DHs!
The thought of someone wrapping themselves in a quilt made of their departed mom\'s clothes makes me cry right now. Such a nice thing to do! Ditch the law and go with art! It\'ll be better for your soul for a while. Have good naps!
So nice... good for you. I\'m glad you finally get to rest some. Hang in there with the Lupron. Not a fun drug. It doesn\'t agree with me one bit. Doing for others feels real good. You are a sweet and good friend.
95 years, how wonderful. Glad to hear that you\'re back on track too. 3rd IVF a charm, worked for me :) It will work for you. When you are finished with Cassandra\'s quilt, please post a pic. It sounds so warm. Good luck with everything.
