Progesterone is irritating, and I mean that dermatologically and emotionally. To be graphic (because I'm irritated), the progesterone suppositories are wreaking havoc with the tender skin of my private parts. If Dove soap can include "one-quarter moisturizing cream," why can't the suppositories have one-quarter anti-inflammatory agent? The area is plenty slick and moist, but getting sore. Irritated. I'm also irritated about this pimple on my chin. It hurts and is unattractive. In previous months I've taken pimples to be a sign of the coming period, but this time I know that my system is in such havoc that it means nothing except... irritation. Which brings us to the worst of it: my emtional state. I am extremely unhappy with my pants today: too tight. And I declared to my husband on our way out the door this morning that I was burned out on making our lunches, so we'd have to fend for ourselves for food today. I'm having a bad hair day and I just want to cry. I broke down and had a Diet Coke, which I'm generally avoiding, just because I needed the emotional support of my former caffeine addiction. On the way back to my office from the Coke machine, I passed by an empty office with unused furniture piled into it. I ducked in, closed the door, and crumpled into a soft, comfy chair (I had to remove some extension cords from it first). I closed my eyes and tried the Dorothy trick: "There's no place like home. There's no place like home." It didn't work. James said this morning that as soon as this 3-month, 10-hour a day temp job is over, maybe I could take a couple of weeks off. I could do some quilting, pet the cat, and sleep late. That has never sounded better. This is definitely the worst part of fertility treatments: the hormones make you Hormonal. I find that so irritating. AND THAT MAKES ME IRRITATING! I hereby apologize to one and all. It's not me! It's not me!
