I had a small disappointment today.  I say "small" because it shouldn't have been upsetting.  I say "disappointment" because it was. Today was Day 2 of my "menses," which meant I could move from Lupron shots to the whole coctail that would make my eggs start to grow.  I got up early and went to the doctor for a baseline sonogram and he found a cyst, which he said was common after taking Lupron.  Dr. G was the guy doing the sonogram, even though Dr. D is my normal doctor.  Dr. G said that Dr. D usually just proceeds as if these weren't there, although one can also drain cycsts before going forward with the other meds.  As a professional courtesy, I think, Dr. G told me to maintain the status quo and then come in again for another baseline with Dr. D when he's back from vacation on Tuesday.   In short, I've been delayed two days because the partner didn't want to make the decision for my real doctor, and delaying won't hurt anything as far as my cycle goes.   Still, I really wanted to move forward.  I had been looking forward to this for 2 weeks.  Last night we had a very pregnant friend over for dinner (her husband said that they had come to break bread and break water), and I just wanted to get something going in my own belly besides Lupron.  So I spent the whole day being a little bit morose.  I had a series of really depressed thoughts, so I got some M&Ms.  They helped a little.  But I'd still rather move on. Just 2 more days.  2 more days. Yesterday we received the "Hope of My Heart" infertility bracelet that someone mentioned on this support group.  It's green and gold and represents our assurance that no matter how long it takes, in the end we'll have a family.  It's nice to look at it and imagine our kids.  Some day.
