Accupuncture made my ears bleed. Not much, but it's worth saying because it sounds so dramatic. I have attended two accupuncture sessions now, in support of my IVF. I don't think I allowed enough time for it to be truly effective, but I thought it might calm me down anyway. I had two "cleansing" treatments (I was particularly full of toxic chi, which doesn't surprise me) and a couple others that I didn't catch the purpose of. One treatment involved sticking 3 needles into each ear. Apparently our ears are just a bunch of skin, cartiledge, and nerve endings, so the tiny little needles HURT as they were going in. She drew a little blood as she was taking one out and showed it to me on the cotton swab. It was about the width of the head of a normal pin. So not all that damaging, really. The ear treatments were supposed to correspond to the ovaries. Isn't that interesting? I wouldn't be surprised if the ovaries felt the needles; they hurt so much. Today marks the start of the second week on Lupron. Just one more week -- or less -- and I'll be in the follicle stimulation phase. Woo hoo!
