Two days ago I did my mock embryo transfer.  For $750 I was hoping to get my money's worth in what I knew was a 1-minute procedure.  My doctor said my cervix was "tight as a fist," which made me worried that my pelvic floor dysfunction (excessively contracted muscles in the vaginal area) were coming back.  But he kept poking with the catheter and then poked his way through.  "You probably just had an adhesion there, but we got through it," he said.  Suddenly the thought of an adhesion -- absolutely any obstacles to getting embryos in there when the time comes -- became very scary.  I was glad he could poke through with the catheter tip, and I was glad I paid $750.  Well, maybe that's going a little far, but at least I finally saw the value of the mock ET.   By the way, the morning of my mock ET, my husband started singing the James Taylor/Carly Simon rock-n-roll version of "Mockingbird," but with altered lyrics.  I love life with my husband.  It went: Mock(yeah)E (yeah)T(yea)Yeah(yea)Mock ET, Well, everybody have you heard, I'm gonna buy her a Mock ET (mock E-T) ... Good way to start the morning!  Now I'm really eager to do my cycle review next week.  I want to know all about the drugs and timing and start filling up my calendar with PRODUCTIVE activities!  Oh, I hope this works! My husband suggested we call our first child, "Franklin Delano."  I asked if that was because he wanted it to be a populist president.  He said no, that it would just have the same initials as the phrase "Financial Disaster."  Can't wait to get our little FD baby!

LOL! Your husband rocks! Mine too. He is my entire support system & my bit of comedy everyday....and if anything, we need comedy!

What is the reason they do a mock embryo transfer? Just wondering. Sounds like it was somewhat helpful, eh?

Aunt Lissa, they do a mock ET to make sure they\'ll be able to get a clear shot at your uterus with their catheter when the time comes to shoot you up with embryos.
