2 steps forward 3 back
Life sure can be unpredictable. I have been feeling fairly positive for the last week - until yesterday. I went to work and headed for the grocery store on my way home. It was rush hour and I thought I had plenty of room to pull in to the turn lane. I did not. My rear view mirror dinged the back of a truck beside me. I didn't thing there was any damage so I carried on to the parking lot. The truck pulled up and a fellow came out and said "Did you just hit my truck". I said yes and told him that I didn't think it had done any damage. He was very nice and said that if it hadn't broken his tail light, he wouldn't worry. I gave him my name and number and forgot to get his. I actually said "what are we supposed to do, I haven't had an accident before". His friend said exchange information. So we will see if he is as nice as he seemed.
I then went to my car, called Joe who took a bus and came and got me. I really have no resilience any more. A few years ago, I would have been all business and that would have been it. I do know what to do but I just couldn't think.
So my positive feelings are down the tube now.
Lisa: Another phone call I couldn't make to you. I miss you more than ever and I love you forever. Mum
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Enjoy your day, blessings to you,, Nora
Marlene, the little things send us reeling now, don\'t they? Our resiliency has worn thin since our kids left for Heaven I think. So many of us describe feeling overwhelmed over things that in our prior lives wouldn\'t have phased us. No one was hurt and you will carry on...I rpomise. Love and tight hugs, Linda
I\'m so grateful that no one was injured my friend. Yes, these \"small\" things really do add up and I find myself feeling overwhelmed and needing to take time to pause often throughout my day. You are not alone with that feeling my friend.
I also wanted to say something about the title of your journal... you said two steps forward and three back... It may feel that way for you from time to time yet believe me you are never back to where you were on the beginning of this path. I believe this so deeply and it\'s what keeps me going on the darkest of my days. Be gentle with yourself and know that you are putting one foot in front of the other and with so much courage. On days such as you describe you may have stumbled back a bit and feel that way yet you are not losing ground my friend yet healing and gaining back your life. Embrace it all as you are.
Hoping today is an easier one on all levels and please take care.
Love and understanding hugs, Joanie
For quite a while...we are NOT as resilent...but in time, this returns. You are a little fragile right now...and just know that and let it go. I too am glad no one was hurt..take gentle care of yourself...Karen
I understand how little things can get us down or over the edge which ever analogy you prefer. My philosophy is that our cups are completely full of sorrow and grief, we have all we can handle, and even on drop of something negative to add to it makes it overflow and what was a little nothing in the pass is a hard to handle issue now. That\'s one reason I\'m so thankful I no longer have to work...I just couldn\'t face it anymore. Sending you love Marlene and I completely understand about not being able to talk to Lisa and how hard it is, I feel the same about telling Jason things. l know he knows...but I want so want to talk with him again. It hurts. Terry
