2 more days until race day!

I'm excited. Last Saturday, I made a new mins/mile PR! I ran 5 miles, but I forgot to start my watch for the first half, and only realized it at the turnaround point! So I was able to time my 2nd 2.5 miles, and my time was 20:44! 2.5 miles at a 8:13 min/mile pace! That's less than 8:30, PLUS it was after already running 2.5 miles!
I'm feeling a bit more confident now. I've been running this week, but taking it easier per the schedule. I did a short 2-miler today even, though it didn't say to on my schedule. I ran the beautiful streets of San Francisco and visited Alta Plaza with my boyfriend, who is running this race with me. It was gorgeous and leisurely, nothing strenuous at all.
I've decided that I don't think I'm going to do these time goals anymore, and do more of my longer distance relaxed running. The distances are achievements in themselves for me, and I find satisfaction with running in beautiful views and faraway places more than I do these time trials. I would love to get back to the point where running 10-12 miles "ain't a thing," like back when I ran my first marathon and was in tip-top shape. I think I'm going to sign up for a half sometime in the summer in a city I've never been to as my next race (since I've got a lot of weddings coming up that give occasion for the travel :)
Wish me luck on my race on Sunday! Whether I reach my goal or not, I'm happy for my PR and will be trying my very best. I thank everyone who encouraged me on this journey, and good luck everyone on your goals!!

Your doing great Jessica. I think you idea of running longer distances in a more relaxed way is a Good idea. I don\'t run,but I think if I did,I would choose the longer and relaxed way of running.More time to soak in the sights and just enjoy the run!
Good Luck on Sunday,I know you will do your best! That\'s what counts and I hope you have Fun too!

Good luck! I am so excited for you Jessica! I knew you would smash your goal as soon as you started your training, and I still have confidence that you are going to totally rock this race! woohoo go Jessica go!

I think training for a half marathon will be a great next step for you, especially since you have your sights on a marathon for a future goal. I was planning to sign up for the Disneyland half this year but I just barely missed the registration. It was at 98% when I went to bed on Thursday, and Friday at 7am it was full. :( Let me know when you decide on a half, I can\'t wait to hear which race you choose!

Good luck! I will be cheering you on from here! :)
