2 More Days....

I leave in 2 days. Tonight my stepdad and I went out for my birthday dinner. We went to my favorite Thai place and got some good food. I have leftover chow mein that I'm going to eat on the plane on the way home. I can't believe that it's already time for me to go. I started packing today so I have less to do tomorrow. Also tomorrow I'm supposed to go to the Griffith Park Observatory and take some pictures. I will try and post at least one. I took a picture of my new USC shirt and posted that here on DS the other day, and I hope to get a picture of my stepdad and I at the Observatory. Hopefully it's clear and the smog level is down. I hope that we get a pretty sunset too, since we are going up there in the afternoon. I don't know how late we are going to be staying, but at least I know I'm going to get my exercise in since I have to walk around and hike a lot there. It's close to the top of a big hill, and we might go up the hill some more. I don't know if it qualifies as a mountain or not. I don't know how big something has to be to be considered a mountain.
Today was good. I didn't do much... just stayed in bed most of the day. I did get laundry done, which is one less thing I have to worry about tomorrow. I'm mostly packed, too. Tomorrow I have to get my snacks for the plane ready and get Geo's burgers. I didn't get to see all the friends I wanted to see, but that's okay. I did get to see a bunch of my friends, which makes me happy. I got to see a bunch of places that I wanted to see, and all that good stuff. I had a pretty productive trip, now it's time to get home and get back to work. I want to see about getting that job at the clinic when I go back. I have to see when they have a position open, and how much they want to pay. I can't take a job with too high of pay or else I will use up months that I need later.
See, the way it works with Social Security when you are disabled is that you can make $720 a month and not have any penalties or anything. If you make more than that, then you start using up a buffer of 9 months. After that 9 months you don't get your payments anymore. So I don't want to make more than the $720 so I don't use up my buffer. I want to save that for when I'm really ready to go back to work. Your months don't have to be consecutive, and it keeps them for 5 years. So if I go over for a month here and a month there, I could end up using my buffer, and I don't want that to happen. It's crazy, but at least I have the opportunity to go back to work part time and get some extra money to save. I could save up for a car or something. I know we need a car. Even if they cut my benefits a bit while I'm working, I could still save up money, pay off debt and all that good stuff. I have a ton of debt, so the more I can pay off the better.
Mood today was good. Even though I was in bed most of the day, I didn't get depressed. I think it's because I'm getting excited about going home and seeing my Geo. I miss him so much. We did talk last night and he said he was sad that I went to my mom's for Christmas, that he wanted to spend it with me. I felt bad that he didn't tell me before, but I understand. If he had told me that he didn't want me to go, I wouldn't have gone and then I would have felt bad for letting my mom down. Now I can tell her in advance that I can't go, and that Geo would prefer to spend Christmas with me and all that. She might be sad, but at least it's enough of a warning.
Food today was bad... I went over my calories with the Thai food, but it was totally worth it. I stepped on the scale today and it wasn't as kind as it was the other day. I've gained about 5 pounds now since I've been here, and it's probably all fat since I've been eating a ton of fat every day. Today was the only day in a while where I was nowhere near my total fat limit. And that might even be wrong, since I couldn't find the dish I ate at the Thai food place (Pad See Ew) on the calorie tracker. Oh well, it's the best I can do. I just put Pad Thai instead. Other than that, I had cake for breakfast again (yes, I know... I just have one more piece left that needs to get eaten) and chili beans with some Wheat Thins for lunch. I had a moment of stress when we were on the way to the Thai place and I didn't know where we were going. I figured it out though, and we weren't lost. I'm glad I got it figured out. Sleep last night was good... I woke up around 8:30am today and I didn't need a nap. I hope I can sleep tomorrow!
