HI,
My name is Eric, I lost my wife on Thanksgiving in 2012, our son was 8 at the time. I'm raising him by myself, and hope I'm doing a good job. I take some comfort in knowing my wife is with our daughter, she passed in 2003 at 16 months old. We moved to Oklahoma in 2008, and the difference in people has been amazing, I'm very lucky to have the neighbors I have. Up north they didn't come by to check how we were doing, down here I had breakfast left on my porch by a neighbor we hardly knew (not that I felt like eating). Even though we have great friends and support from the neighborhood, I still feel alone. It seems like everyone thinks it's easy to just jump back into a "normal" life again. I've have to try for the most part, so my son won't think the rest of his life has to be depressing.
