Have you ever sat down and asked them what goes through there mind? Once in a while I ask Doc how he sees me now. He doesn\'t want to answer and ususlly avoids it if he can. But I pressure him into it if I feel like I have to know, and right now you have to know. Maybe they are afraid to know or ask. It\'s time for a family meeting. Go for it. let them know. Then be honest with them get it all out.
YOur right sass, but i have always been the strong one, wow that will shock everybody when they find out im not so strong hey.... will wait tho til someone asks me
That\'s probably why they don\'t ask, Peachy. They don\'t want to talk about it. Talking about it makes it real. Too bad; it IS real!
No don\'t wait you are making yourself sick thinking about it. Invite them to dinner or lunch or even breakfast and tell them it\'s important. THen talk really really talk.
I had the same trouble with my adult kids and my dh finally set them down and told them how it is. They had no idea because every time I was around them my drugs were working, most of the time. Hugs, Jan
I\'m sorry no one asks. But you\'re right, always being the strong one and probably the caregiver means we do the asking, not vice versa. I am very honest with people about how I\'m doing when I\'m struggling. Family & friends. My son has been quite the rock about all this. He\'s 25, and lives a ways away. Let them know that you have to step down from the strong one stage. That you need help and comfort, care and concern. And that you get scared sometimes. Hugs & prayers!
Peachy, they care, they just don\'t know what to say, and perhaps dont want the answer because then they would have to have an answer to it also..ya know? Have you ever been a loved one of someone who was dealing with a chronic illness? It\'s kind of confusing, don\'t know exactly what to say....BUT, I\'m not saying that\'s an excuse.
It\'s just too easy sometimes for people to keep depending on you to be strong. No pressure on them..right? It\'s okay not to be strong all the time Peachy, but for your own sake, you can\'t let yourself fall apart too often. Not for them, but for you. Faith and strength is what picks me up. I have to believe that it will all be okay..all your friends have great ideas and suggestions. Talk to your family. Tell them how you feel sweetie, they are your loved ones, they will get it.
