Well i went to the pd seminar, dont think i should have really,  I was not ready to hear what they said, as l had no idea of what pd could do....  it was very confronting, and quite upsetting!!  I did not know the full implications of pd, and now do!  None of it good!.. So im still resolute in IM NOT HAVING IT

Annette ! I heard things didn\'t go well ! Your experience was much like mine ! People stutterring , stammering, shaking , freezing, limping, aching and generally not in great shape ! But if you had looked closely you would have seen hope in thier hearts , joy in their eyes and a smile on their face( even if it may have been hidden under a mask)! You missed the opportunity to meet some of the most gracious , talented caring friends you could have ever made ! Friends that will be there for you reguardless of your state of mind , your faults and your mistakes ! Go again , join the support group ! Give this PD a chance ! You cannot talk, wish or ignore it away ! You have got to live it if you want to deal with ! It will not go away ! My symptoms started in \'89 at age 32 , I still work and do many things I\'ve always done !

Annette , Face this Demon ! It\'s the only way !

I\'m always here if you need someone to talk to !

Your Friend IN PD !

I can only echo tennmike\'s sentiments. The first suppport group meeting I went to the topic was depression...i cried the whole way home. Try it again, but may I suggest have a one on one meeting with someone in the group first...i think it will help. You have something to offer that group, and if you look a lil bit deeper, you\'ll find the special things the people there can offer. And if it doesn\'t ever work for you, then i realize physical support groups are not for everyone. Just make sure you plug in somewhere..the journey is far easier when shared.

hi its strange but many of us who are the fighters or positive thinkers who endeavour not to give in to pd and lead a full life as possible often find these support groups depreesing n negative full of the worst affected sufferers, we then withdraw and leave them to it.
it has just dawned on me we need to be there to give our positive input and give hope to those who have none,i feel i have been selfish and will start attending again to give something positive, maybe organise pd\'s fav, singers night i.e, shakin stevens,or songs like i\'m all shook up or shake rattle n roll, keep smiling

Maybe the answer is to have our first support groups mostly populated by newly diagnosed with only a few long timers with the wisdom to guide us.....
