Diagnosed with PM in July I have progressed from 75 mg Prednisone per day to my current dose of 15 mg. I have gained probably 10 kg but averaging 2 kg a fortnight. Not sure it is entirely the steroids- I do like to eat and eating the wrong things. It was okay for the first six weeks, but these last hmm. Just hope the uniform keeps fitting. Keep telling everyone that I am big and beautiful with more of me to love.
Am very grateful to all the strangers (that I now consider friends) who have taken me into their lives and shared their experiences with me. Initially i felt very isolated due to the rareness of the conditon (always knew I was special). Focusing on being postive in everything and trying to find a silver lining on that dark cloud.
Not sure why I am blessed with this condition but i guess all will be revealed someday.

Welcome Judenic, I am sorry you have to be here, but if you have to this is a great group of folks who are knowledgeable and kind and who really do understand. I am 9 months into my DM oddysey. I had rash alone for years first, now the muscle thing has rocked my world. I appreciate every little thing now, it has changed my view of the world dramatically, and for the better. My best to you.
