Life
Over the past few months pain and suffering seems to have planted firmly in my life. I had very few days of sunshine in my life even though I live in the sunshine state, but today I read my newspaper, which I have had such difficulty doing. As I read various articles I noticed that I was actually interested in the story lines.
I refused to read negative articles about the goverment, our President, the school board, etc. I hardly read the first section of the newspaper at all as it is always about international news, which these days is about war and other crimes. No thank you. I have enough pain in my life. As I read the local news there were articles about an upcoming reading festival and various authors who would be attending and some book reviews that I truly enjoyed.
It seems to have been so long since I was able to read a book, retain what I have read and enjoy it. As I read today's newspaper I had the urge to enroll in a writing course. I know that I can write and I have always wanted to write, but not sure how to start or the correct way to write what I feel and what others would want to read.
I also read an article about a local artist who creates reading boxes for neighbors to share books. The reading boxes are placed in sponsors as they are called, yards and people can take books for free. They can bring them back, swap out others or donate. They are also aloowed to "steal" them which I found as an odd label, but I yarned for a house of my own to place a reading box. I also wonder how an artist supports herself on just her work and would love to do that and give up my hour by hour job. I have lived in an apartment for more years than I would like to remember. I am not an apartment person and need my freedom. As I read about the festival and the lady who creates the reading boxes I felt hope. I felt that one day I will own my home and one day I will start to write again. I will live as I had planned so long ago.

Hang on to those dreams Brenda the dreams keep me sane... I may not get to where i am dreaming, but the act of dreaming of it is good for my soul...
