PROGRESS!

THANK GOD FOR 3 DAY WEEKENDS!
I got SO MUCH done in the last 2 days... Saturday's thunderstorm lingered overhead for 6 HOURS.   I'll post photos later... we didn't have any damage here, but in the next county there were warnings that animals WOULD be injured from the golf ball sized hail.   It was a good day to get the inside stuff done.
Yesterday, we woke up to rain again.  So I went to church and MAN, do I LOVE church (that's so weird for me to be saying that so much!)  When I got there, I walked in the door and the pastor was playing Hungry Hippos in the entry with several teenagers, lol.   And that's what the sermon was about... the theme is called "Playing Games" and it was about catching up and dealing with the frenzy in our lives - like the game Hungry Hippos!   SO FITTING for me yesterday, lol.   And it began with his story about a basset hound who was accidently forced to run until someone came to help it which included FUNNY photos of two basset hounds running - flopping ears, flopping faces and all).   Though the story sent my blood pressure shooting up because I can't bear to hear anything about animals being endangered in any way, it had a good ending.   I felt RECHARGED when I left.  My motivation for EVERYTHING returned....
The sun was out when church was over, so I started tackling my gardening.   Several hours of tilling later, another storm began.   So I finished planting seeds, and inside we went.  I still have that leak issue to deal with, but it didn't rain much, so I'm ok for another day.   So then I cleaned closets, decided what to get rid of and what to keep and got REALLY organized.  I was on such a roll that I had to tell myself to STOP by 6 pm so I could sleep by 8.  I know, I'm becoming such an old lady with 8 pm bedtimes, lol.
I woke up this morning to another thunderstorm.   So once again, it was inside projects - today I fixed my PLUMBING.  I dropped a cap into my bathroom sink the other day and in an attempt to get it out, it went right down into the trap.   So I got some pipe wrenches and went to work this morning.   I did WELL!   Not only did I get it to come apart pretty easily and cleanly, but I put it back together quickly with NO LEAKS!   YES!  Then I went on to more laundry (getting stuff ready to give to the Salvation Army), and went through my old camping gear (tents, mattresses, etc). I was struggling to decide on whether or not to keep it.    See, I have this friend who whenever we go out to do something - hiking, biking etc - she NEVER brings her own supplies... she always wants MY water, MY food.  And so, as I was going through my stuff, I started thinking I should keep it for her.... and then I FROZE.   I just realized how much she uses.... she uses my friendship.  She's supportive - was one of the best people to get me through the divorce - but I realize that I'm just setting myself up to resentments and more neglect and abuse.   AHA!   BOUNDARIES.   The tents are going to auction.... and she's going to have to start preparing her own things because I'm tired of extra weight.
So right now, it's just cloudy with blue sky coming behind.   I know the singletrack is going to be too wet to ride again today.   And my friend did want to try to get out and hike... BUT, the Mickelson Trail is good wet or dry.   So I'm seriously thinking of going out for 20 miles to get STARTED on that bike training.   I plan to head up as soon as I'm off here...
Laundry's ready to fold.... LATER!

Well, lol, so much for the Mickelson. In the amount of time to put my gear in the car and the bike on the rack, a HUGE storm flared up. Plus the dogs wouldn\'t let me leave without them, lol. So instead we quickly drove up to Big Hill, rode out about a mile on the singletrack, it began to rain and so we went back to the car. 20 minutes riding, 241 calories burned, exhausted dogs, lol. Ran into other bikers with the same idea. Got back to town and couldn\'t even see the mountain near the house due to the low clouds from the incoming storm. Yep, another indoor day - but hey, at least we got in a little biking! :)

You are doing such a good job at setting goals and putting in the plans to reach those goals. I\'m glad you got to go up Big Hill before the rain got bad. Twenty minutes of exercise is good.
