Just an update
Distribution documents came in the mail yesterday... they want to give me $741.00 in cash out of the $32,200.00 and put the rest into a brokerage account.... the kind of high risk brokerage account that requires income information for the SEC. Which I'm refusing to give. Ok, gonna vent a bit (with sarcasm)... reason for this account, my aunt said, is because it would take a mathematician to figure out the breakdown between all 7 shares... 1. Banks= a corporation of mathematicians. 2. If it's being broken into individual accounts, then it could be broken down into a check too, right? 3. If it's NOT being broken up into individual accounts, then I'm being tricked into creating a new trust that will prevent me of EVER obtaining that money. And 4. I've NEVER heard of being FORCED to become an investor with a SPECIFIC bank of THEIR choice just to obtain an inheritance..... so I meet with my attorney on Friday, and my financial advisor on Tuesday. We'll see where it goes from here... and it's not gonna be pretty. Especially since I've been told that the rest of the family has already signed off the releases, etc., and they are waiting for ME to finish this so they can get their money.

This doesn\'t sound right to me either.You can\'t be given an inheirtance and then not be allowed to do what you want with it. Stay on top of this.
You are being VERY smart in my opinion. This sounds very fishy and Im glad you have you lawyer and fincial planner involved. I have done a fair amount of investing in my days, and nothing about this seems right to me...stand you ground. Good luck, with love Sandy
I know this is fishy! Don\'t sign anything without your lawyer and financial advisers agreement! I hate to say it but it sounds like the $32,200.00 is the total amount from your Aunt\'s trust or will and that the 7 individuals must divide that amount. Hey guess what I got a calculator and it says $32,200.00 would be $4600 a piece. So either way there is something wrong. I am not a mathematician,(don\'t have enough fingers and toes! Ha, Ha,)But this is very simple and when they say its not, that really means they are trying to pull one over on somebody!!! So continue to handle things as you are! You, as usual, are handling things perfectly!!!
I agree with macgunderson...something smells fishy about this inheritance. Glad you have the experts looking into it for you. Stay on it and don\'t let anyone pressure you into signing anything!
She\'s already checking up to see what the wait is - I\'m not answering calls or emails until after I talk to everyone... btw, the 32,000 is my share . My aunt is getting $300,000. And this is only one part of the estate - the other half that I\'m not included in is gonna make them all millionaires if they can agree on how to divide the assets up (a farm sitting in the middle of PRIME corporate development). As I said, lol... gonna be interesting!
