What a busy two days!!!smiley-wink.gif

It has been two days since I wrote but a lot has happened.

I talked to different co workers, fairly comfortably for the last couple of days.

I found everyone to be very friendly and even co operative with me and I found

myself the same way with them.

I meet a new people who is assisting us at the Childcare. I made some small talk

with her many times over this time period. I tried to be as helpful and friendly as

I could muster.

The toughest stuff I did was sit with a co worker during our lunch hour and child's

sleep time. It made me so nervous to do so but I knew it was the expected and normal

for me to do so. We had a nice time talking even though my internal critic was critiquing

my skills the whole time!!! smiley-embarassed.gif

On Friday evening I noticed an acquaintance walking ahead of me who I know nothing about.

I started to get nervous but took over my thoughts and reassured myself that all I had to do

was greet him and then go with the flow. All of a sudden the bus I wanted pulled up and I

as I was starting to board it, I noticed the new person from work had to get off  with her baby

stroller because a disablabled person in a scooter had to get off. It was a very awkward couple

of moments especially since there was another person I knew on the bus. My take out coffee

cup was leaking everywhere and the bus was crowded. I had so many bags that it was a tight

squeeze between me and the gentlemen who shared my seat. Once at the subway this co

worker sat with me on  the train I was a bit nervous but I tried to use my social skills. She

brought up how she use to work 12 hours daily at her other job. I then asked her questions

about this job: what kind of job was it? What did she do when she worked there? Did she enjoy

it and why etc....When this topic dried out we conversed on another one. All of a sudden the

time flew and it was time for her to get off!!!  To my surprise  I had enjoyed the encounter.

Happy living and learning everyone!!!

peace and friendship to all!!!smiley-cool.gif

Ida, i\'m really proud of you! You\'ve been through a lot the past 2 days. experience, knowledge, and confidence gained that you can always use on upcoming experiences. :)

i notice, spontaneous situations, especially social situations, i tend to be more relaxed, as ease. if something is planned, i tend to get a little more nervous, little more anxious, and also, i begin to stress out about the situation. planned social situations, can go smoothly, but the spontaneous social situations, for some reason, i find myself more calm in those situations.

big comforting hugs :)

i\'m really so glad, and blessed, and thankful to have met you along the way. Our journey\'s are just beginning! We\'ve come a long way so far, and lets continue to enjoy! i\'m with you, all the way! :)

This is wonderful to hear that you\'re doing so well conversing with your co-workers and that you enjoyed your encounter on the train. Hopefully in time your inner critic will stop talking to you so loudly when you\'re having conversations with people! Well done! *hugs*

Wow Ida. :) I know what you mean about the internal critic. Have you had to consciously do a lot of work on your thoughts. I know I need to really work on my negative thoughts. That\'s so awesome that you found people to be friendly and cooperative. :) Big hugs for you. I really appreciate your support and comments in my journal too. U rule. :)

The conversation techniques you apply seem great. It is amazing you continue to face all these daily challenges, and continue to experience the moments you are in. Hope today is a great one!
