I wasted my time worrying !!

My friend phoned but and did not seem upset at all. In fact she encouraged me to phone her back!smiley-embarassed.gif

I did so and I tried to remember some of the social skills I have learned in order to keep the

conversation going and to manage my aniexty. Some of the techniques I used are active listening,

asking questions about things that interest her such as: Her new diet, her family, her health, her plans

etc... I also made sure I spoke about my own life and what was happening in it. I noticed that at these times my aniexty went up. I think it was due to fear of judgementsmiley-embarassed.gif

I am glad I phoned her back because I truely care for her and I want her to know it!!smiley-laughing.gif

Have a great night everyone!!!

Looks like you\'re already well on your way to getting over shyness.

I think I need some social skills training. Glad you are able to use what you learned.

To follow up on what I wrote a few days ago. Another of my friends phoned me back after a delay of a few days. Ordinarily I would of stressed out about the reason why for the delay and my thoughts would of gone to extremely negative. This time I stayed cool and told myself
that she is busy doing something and will call when she can. This is just what happened!! We spoke for a while, the whole time I tried to use my listening and social skills and everything seemed to go well on the phone. Then it came to organizing a time to meet today, and then there was some confusion. I persisted through it and then we decided to meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. I\'ll
let you know how it goes!!
