Update
Still doing well on the Sinemet. I upped the dosage to 1 pill 3 times a day after talking with the nurse at Hopkins when I was there to do my PPMI study testing.
I am also participating in anouther interesting study with a different neurologists at Hopkins. He is studying technology and how it might be used with doctors and patients. I do some routine simple tests with a smart phone 4 times a day. The tests test my balance, walking gait, dexterity, voice quality, and reaction time. Then I do a video conference with the doctor once a week where he looks at how I move my hands, my feet, how I stand up, and how I walk - and asks me a few questions. The study lasts a month and I am in my last week now. My husband is also doing it as a non-parkinsons control group. He does not have to do the video conferences though - just the phone tests 4 times a day. They are looking for ways to get a better ideal of what is going on with patients in daily situations so they can make better diagnosis and gage the medicines better.
So all in all - things are good. I am dealing with some family issues that have upset me. Its really hard to watch adult children make poor choices over and over again and don't seem to learn from them. It's even harder whent those choices affect their innocent children the most. I am not very dipolmatic and am often to blunt with my take on things, so all too often am in bad graces with one of my children in particular. One of these days I will learn to keep my mouth shut! But what I am really hoping is that one of these days, she will finially figure out why she keeps doing the same dysfunctional things over and over. Sigh!!
Sorry for the vent!
Hugs everyone!

Sounds exciting with the test. I saw on TV where this Doctor came up with an app for smart phones for his patients to check the blood pressure and some other things. The patient had A-fib. Who would of ever thought your cell phone would maybe save /improve your life.
That\'s the same dose I take on sinemet. I thought I was diagnosed in 2008, but I found a paper where I was diagnosed in 2006. I\'m hanging in there.
Children? What can I say. Sometimes they make good decisions sometimes not. Lucky they don\'t have children involved. It\'s usually money.
Great to hear you are continuing with parkinson\'s research and studies. Having your husband participate too is really nice. Though we all hate to see meds being increased, if it helps in everyday activities and physical well being, it\'s definitely a good thing. Keep up that good fight.
As far as the situation with the \"kids\"; all we can do is raise them to the best of abilities, try to steer them in the right direction as they mature, and at some point just let go. We as parents tend to look at our children as children even through their adult life and as a result get involved with their lives when we probably shouldn\'t. It\'s very difficult to be a parent on the side line watch their adult child self-destruct, unfortunately, sometimes we need to stay out of the way and just let it happen. I think resentment from interference sometimes overpowers the learning from the mistake.
Lots of Hugs, Dan
So glad you are doing well.
Keep up the good work!
Darlene
Brian, Its amazing what they are doing with technology now! I forsee a day soon when we do doctors visits over the computer. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
Wow - 2006? You are hanging in there and doing well. That\'s awesome!
You are wise Dan! I think I need to invest in some duct tape!!! It\'s just so hard when what they are doing is affecting their children so negatively. But you are right - the resentment is shutting off her ears and so it is counterproductive for me to say anything. (darn it!!!!!)
Thanks for the reminder - I needed to hear that! Hugs!
Thanks Darlene! How are you doing these days?
Hugs!
So good to hear you sounding so well. It really is a tonic, you can hear it in your voice!
You must be feeling good as you are even more pro-active than usual, your energy is infectious.
I fall into the same trap as you were kids are concerned! I can\'t help but to jump in and state what everyone else is sitting on the fence and thinking too, usually making me very, very unpopular! I almost dropped my iPad reading Dan\'s wise words, it makes so much sense, I can see where I going wrong. I don\'t know whether I have got it in me to let go though, I know it is the right thing to do but the need to protect them (at any age - even from themselves, or their ill-judged decisions) is completely over-riding. I know Dan is completely right but I just wish it were that easy, it is going to take a bit more the duct tape to keep me quiet or stuck on the fence, best of luck CM as my guess is you are going to struggle just as much!
Julie
You got that one right Julie, boy oh boy will I struggle. Seeing as she isn\'t speaking to me at the moment - it may be easy for a little while though. lol
It\'s that dang lioness in us!!! Take care Julie - and enjoy that Zen machine. Ross did good again!!! I like that man!
Hugs!
