Just checking in

Well, I see it has been quite some time since I have written a journal.  Life has been going along fairly smoothly.  I still have my 17 year old granddaughter living with me.  She has been here for 15 1/2 months.  I am proud of her because she completed this entire year of school at the regular high school and that is a pretty big accomplishment for her.
Amy (Clinton's wife) is once again talking about packing up and moving to Florida.  Of course I am once again praying that those plans will fall through just like the last time.  If she had a job opportunity or any plan for a better life and relationship with her children then maybe I wouldn't be quite so opposed to it, but her only reasoning is that she can lay on the beach and she won't be cold in the winter.  That's all well and good, but if you only plan on taking 2 of your children and one of them cries every time the subject is brought up and you don't have any prospect of a job, a place to live or anything like that, then maybe you should rethink the plan.
Clinton's 7th year anniversary came and went and once again, I survived.  My oldest son flew in from Connecticut on that day so that was very nice.  He hadn't been home for almost 2 years.  The next day was my Mom's 86th birthday and we surprised her with him being here and then with my 2 sisters  and their families and the grandkids and great gandkids having a surprise birthday dinner with her.  The day after that my oldest granddaughter who lives in Arkansas, her fiance and my new great grandson drove in to spend Memorial Day weekend.  My great grandson, Landon, was born on my other granddaughter, Kaite's, birthday...April 7th.  He is precious and I know if Clinton was still here he would be absolutely thrilled with him.
Sadly, I won't be able to make the retreat this year.  I know it will be so much to miss and I will miss you all terribly, but hopefully next year I will be able to make it.  Enough rambling for now.  I love you all and cherish our friendship so much!!!!  Hugs...Lynn

Hi Lynn, Congratulations on the birth of your new great grandson! Glad to hear your granddaughter is doing so well. And I do hope your daughter in law stays close to home. Florida would be so far away! Hopefully she will decide to stay in your area. Good to hear from you. Love to you and dearest Clinton, Linda

Well shoot! I was hoping you would be at the retreat! I know it is hard to do that every year. This year will be different for me, Brian is coming with me. I hope that your daughter in law will forget the notion of moving...that is too far away! I am sure your granddaughter is great company for you...love to you my friend.

I am sorry you won\'t be at the retreat. It sounds like you are busy. Life goes on, no matter what. I have my 17 (almost 18year old) granddaughter with me for a few days. She has a cold and sore throat and is on antibiotics. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow.
Take care. Hugs. Marlene
