Still here

I haven't been on here for a long time so thought I would give an update.  Things are going along rather plainly.  You never know whether you will have a completely sane day or the bottom will fall out.  As time goes on, you just seem to adjust to "walk" in it.  My sister had a get together this weekend so my Mom, my sister and brother in law (who lost their son in February) and I went down to Southern Indiana and spent the weekend.  It was a nice time.  Of course I could see my brother in law "drift away" to that "other place" when he wasn't directly engaged in conversations.   My grandkids are out of school but I still go over there to see them every day after work.  I'm concerned about the amount of discipline that Amy let's her boyfriend dish out.  It's rather complicated, but Amy's Mom, her step-mother and I are keeping a close eye on the situation.  You have to walk on egg shells with your opinions and what you say or you risk getting "banished from the kingdom" so to speak.  The biggest problem is that Amy never really has had good maternal instincts and her boyfriend is only 25 years old and has never had or really been around children, but thinks he knows everything.  He also has a quick temper.  The boys get along with him for the most part, but Kaite mostly tries to avoid him.  He is always "tattling" something to Amy (like not doing the dishes or cleaning exactly when he says to) and trying to get her spanked or grounded.  My oldest granddaughter (almost 16) lives in Arkansas and will be here for a couple of weeks in July to visit.  It will be interesting to get her take on how things have changed since she was here at Christmas. I check the DS site everyday and get email notifications and try to keep up on everyone, I just don't journal much.  I love all my DS friends so much and will never be able to express how much each of you have helped me in so many ways.  I just wanted you all to know how very much you mean to me and that I think of you all and pray for you always.  I'll try to do better at keeping in touch.  Love and hugs to all...Lynn
