I talked to my father about my eating disorder, and ya'll would be surprised by the result. He told me that he could save me thousands of dollars and tell me how to fix myself. He said and i quote" honey i already knew, i mean i could look at you and tell you relapsed, but i am going to save thousands of dollars because all you really need to do is; find out who you are, and like yourself for that. You also need to stop letting your mother, grandmother, and your aunt ( different one) run your life. You do that, and you will be golden"I couldn't believe it, i asked for proffesional help, and basically he just told me to do it myself. I mean the recovery voice was like " what are you kidding me, i have tried that, that is why i came to you" and then the eating disorder voice said " this is good, you reached out for help, it did no good, so now you are free to continue on and lose more weight"I am going to be talking to my aunt in a couple of days, i told her i talked to my dad, she was proud of me. I need to talk to her, because i think that she can help sit down with him, and explain that i can't do it by myself. Maybe if it comes from her, he'll reconsider.

I am so sorry. Your dad doesn\'t understand, obviously, the extent of your illness. I would say that you need to tell him exactly what your recovery voice said. Tell him that you cannot DO this on your own, and you are asking for professional help. Tell him how you have struggled with it, on your own. Tell him that every sinlge day you fight the ED, and more times than not, you are losing. You need help to make your recovery voice stronger, so you can defeat the ED voice. Don\'t give up. If he doesn\'t listen, talk to your mom. If she doesn\'t listen, talk to your grandmother. If she doesn\'t listen, you MAKE them listen.
Your dad is right in one way- that you have to focus all your thoughts and energy into recovery, establish your triggers, and really want to get better before you can. However, brushing you off and saying that you can heal yourself is wrong. It\'s obvious that the ED has a hold of you, and you need professional intervention as well.
I\'m sorry you are struggling like this. Just keep strong.
