18 miles away
Got in an hour ago from a trailways ride, to 18 miles from where I live. Hillbilly me wanted to check out the farmers' market up there---and even the Walmart.
And that was it for about 6 hours, along with the library, 5 & 10, salvation army, and fast food joint.
I had to stand at a corner for about a half hour, and flag down the Trailways for way home, but at least that worked out ok too.
My hometown ticket agent made a mistake, with the driver being real nice to fix it. And when I went into Walmart to buy a 50 cent snack for local bus fare---a woman in front of me used up her gift card for me to get the bag of dorittos for free. I gave a lame thank you, cause really threw me for a loop, no stranger ever did that before (and I still had to go to courtesy desk for bus fare).
Kinda numbed out from the day, for any worthwhile account of it---but a major event for me, especially since if i would have missed out on the bus, I would have had a long walk home.

Sounds very stressful to me. Good for you.
Does feel good to have survived it, including standing opposite a bar for a half hour to flag down the only ride home.
