18 DAYS
It is just 18 days until I am on my way to my biggest adventure . I am so very excited, very nervous (This is something I have never really done-- and certainly not on my own) but determined and looking forward to taking my very first big step... toward that freedom and even more... toward that new start .
For some time now, I have been aching to experience life and all it has to offer. For the first time ever, I am feeling the beginnings of that stirring up inside me... and it does feel so damn good. Here's to my first (of hopefully many) big risks.

I remember my big move like this
Back in days like early 2000-2001 I was on telepersonals. I met a veteranarian near Tampa that breeds Whippets and Italian Greyhounds. I also had this other person in south dakota? Anyways I was looking for adventure and made big plans to fly to south dakota to meet this person who was six feet tall! Then I called and heard their voice and she sounded like a HE! So I changed and the vet called me as I was trying to cancel
Flight then I switched and flew into Tampa. She picked me up at airport. I slept in her filthy house which had dried dog poop through it from her many crated animals. I cleaned her house the next day as she went to work leaving me in her house to clean for her! LoL
If I got lucky I remember a kiss on lips but not passonate before I went home but she bought me dinner at nice five star restaurant because it was the year that St. Louis Rams won super bowl over Tampa Bucs! We had bet on that! I lost touch with Gayle but it was interesting weekend!

I am happy to report that we have not only been chatting online, but doing more calling each other and talking for hours... (as well as video chats) I rather like the sound of his voice and very anxiously await being right there next to him. I will get to see where he lives, but we are staying at a couple of motels along the way of our journey . He is going to show me his corner of the world and I can see not only beautiful mountains, but a little deeper into his soul and what made him who he is.
I am a bit nervous to venture off all alone, but it is a step I truly need to do to free myself from some of this fear that has been instilled in me forever. I don't want to fear life, but finally embrace it-- and all it has to offer.

Well, I am sure you will not be alone during your travels. Sounds like this guy will be, at least, on the phone with you to walk you through everything. I am happy by you being happy

@Carolin… Yes he is and has been for more than 40 years... so it is a big part of his life. This is yet another thing of many I have missed. I have always wished I had seen a little more of the world,, as well as reaching out and taken a chance when other opportunities arose. He is giving me the courage and opportunity to finally take that first step that I have been wanting for years now.
PS I have to admit we are getting caught up in the romance. (or maybe I should say I am?) I am sporting a very contented grin these days.

@lb... He had training and has done that in his past among other things. He currently does something else (but also has other irons in the fire.) He is actually just a few years older but I am afraid he may leave me in the dust. lol I have never seen or spoken with anyone with such drive , determination or zest for life. (I am happy to report it is contagious . ) Hugs back at you. :)
