GD

The results from the one hour test came back abnormal at 165.  Normal is below 140.  So on monday, i have to take the 3 hour test.  I feel guilty that maybe I wasnt eating as healthy as I should have.  I surely dont want to harm my baby in any way with GD.  If in fact I do have GD, I will have to increase my exercise program and start to eat healthier.

Bless your heart... I didn\'t have it with my 1st but now with my 2nd I am nervous. Unlike my 1st, I have not been able to exercise per Dr\'s orders and frankly I am so nauseous that the stuff I can eat is not the healthiest (loads of peanut butter and bread. Good luck with the 2nd test... I have heard of a few ladies that failed the 1st test and passed the 2nd. How are you feeling otherwise? How far along are you?

I failed the one hour and then the 3 hour. I had to test my blood sugar 4 times a day which I think hurt more than all the infertility injections I had and wasn\'t any fun at all. My perinatologist gave me a diabetes diet to follow and I did and it worked for a time but I then had a hard time controlling my glucose levels and had to take diabetes pills the rest of my pregnancy. I really feel for diabetics and all they go through. Anyway, I was tested after my 6 week post partum check up and then a few months later, and no sign of diabetes, thank heavens. Sometimes it\'s just how your body reacts to the placenta and there isn\'t much you can do about it, but the good news is it goes away when your pregnancy is over. I\'ll keep you in my prayers and thoughts that you pass the 3 hour test and you won\'t have to hassle with all the stuff I had to.
