My ex-husband just left. He was here to pick up the last of his stuff. He has changed so much as a person in these past 5 months. He has become very materialistic. He didn't even touch the dogs, who used to view him as 'Daddy". I asked him if he will ever have dogs again and he told me he has 2 English bulldog puppies. Huh?? Show dogs from top champion stock! La dee freekin' da! I'll never understand people. He actually said that if I ever sell the house it would be nice if I throw some of the money I make his way. He makes double what I make, has a live-in girlfriend who is a nurse and I'm sure makes good money. What could he be thinking? He left me. We are divorced and he gave the house to me. Sigh.... 

He invited me to dinner at his house, I am sure it will be to show me how wonderful this new house is.  (It's on a canal with an in-ground pool, in an upscale neighborhood.) To show me how wonderful his new girlfriend is and how great he has it. She has the life he promised me and didn't have to even work for it. She didn't struggle with him to make ends meet and support him through all the difficult times. He invited me over for dinner. She wants to meet me. Oh yeah, that will be a fun evening. It would rate at the level of having another tooth pulled... without Novocain. Of course it could be fun to have some "girl talk" and compare notes just to see him sweat a bit. Mwahahahahahahahahaha!

I am sure it's the same story all over DS. I will not worry about what could have been. I am looking forward to what will be. I see a very bright future for me if I can just believe in myself and embrace new opportunities as they arise. I am sure I'll have my dream of a rustic home by a forest with a front porch, a nearby fishing hole and lots of land and animals running around come true if only I can believe it can come true.

I am a bit wiser today. :)
