The new job is full of things to learn.  First off, cell technology isn't as inhuman and anonymous as it looks.  There are litterally hundreds of people "on the ground" around the the country keeping you connected.  Secondly nothing in a cell phone network is static.  It is constantly growing and new technologies and capabilities are also continously being added.A second engineer was added to our team to help us get caught up for a major market campaign announcing HSDPA (high speed cellular internet connectivity) for our area.  The cell company has been adding new towers and additional capability to existing towers for almost a whole year.  Our job has been getting the new stuff "tweaked in" before the release to the cell users.  (OK OK you GBR and Europeans have had this capability for a while. Hey! Were in the good ol' U S of A where nothing happens without forming a committee and getting a new government agency set up to see if it can be done!!!)My driving team would go out and gather data then return to the office.  We would give the data to the second engineer.  He would log in to the controlling network that has the tower database and make adjustment remotely to the tower.  We would go out and re-collect the same data to verify the changes.  What a blast!  The next time I pay my cell phone bill, I'll have a greater understanding as to where some of the money goes. :)
