Just joined Healthy Relationships. Yeah yeah yeah, some of you will be saying "what took you so long?" Well we (my wife and I - Eah) are still realatively new her to Daily Strength and are still testing the waters. Both of us want to help and be helped but we both want to keep our boundries. It is good to share but to watch what you share in public. It is good to help but some help is better done in private. Having said that, my profile pretty much introduces our relationship. We have been married for 15+ years and are continously learning and growing. A few years ago someone asked me a leading question - "If you were going to establish a boundary for yourself what would be the most important boundary you could set?" That question has been with me ever since. For me the answer was the boundary of myself - Me. Of course that made sense but I wasn't too sure who I was, who was ME? That has been a process and path that has been tearful and delightful at the same time. Together we have both been exploring who we are and who we are to become. Sharing and communicating has become our favorite hobby and pastime. For us I think that sharing expectations and discovering what expectations that are mutual is the first place for cultivating a healty relationship.
