17 Years....
we've been watching the coverage of 9.11. it's still surreal.
so, what have i done for 17 years? I can tell u exactly where i was that day. ... that moment... but life has forged on... but to what? doing what?
i owned a home in CO at the time and lived in Texas. I sold that house, bought 3 more and have sold them all since. I bought land in the New Mexico Rockies.
my daughter graduated from jr high, high school and college.
I divorced. i remarried.
i have had 4 doggies. one has passed.
many family member have passed: 2 grandmothers, my daddy, 3 uncles. and one aunt. She died today... this morning....
i retired from teaching public school. taught 3 years at the community college. now nearly 2 years ESL online.
i had a hysterectomy. i had a kidney stent put in and removed a few days later....
i had the privledge of living in clear creek county colorado again. my daughter has moved to chicago and then to denver.
i now have another amazing daughter... she lives in oregon.
I have made many many new and REAL friends... friends like i have never really had before. i had many plastic friends at one time in my life.
i was diaged w/ cfs and ra... they tried to steal my life .... but failed.
i no longer believe in..... organized religion, giving time to ppl that are plastic, trying to have the 'perfect' life, thinking i can know it all.
i now believe that.... just bc someone is different doesn't make them wrong. i have the right to live and let live. i can be responsible for my own happiness.
IN 17 years i will be 73. i have no idea if i will be alive. i know many many different things will happen in the next 17 years to come... some good and some bad.
i need to make today very very happy and be busy doing what i love.
i need to play the ukulele... i need to start a ukulele band in this town. i need to love my friends.... flaws and all. i need to love myself and quit picking on the flaws of others... develop more tolerance.
life is short.
Namaste

Sounds like you have had a good life and know what yo want, good for you.
Namaste. Love your journal and admire you a lot. I have a friend beside me at the market who plays her Uke in a band and another friend who works for me who also plays and teaches the Ukulele I feel like I'm really stuck and stagnating in many ways at present, so I always find inspiration in the way you tackle your life. I have no doubt that you could get a band happening if you put your mind to it. Life is short and I am very restless. Love to you ginger soul.xo
