Yesterday was a very bad day. I found out about some very distrubing things. On Sunday my 16 & 14 & 18 year old daughters witnessed a drug related murder - they weren't there when the shot was fired but showed up shortly after - to watch a man bleed to death.If that wasn't enough, I got a call from my 16 year old from a police station in Oregon (we live pretty much in central California). The boy who had been driving didn't have a licence. They were held until their father picked them up. The drama continues - then I find out that on monday their father nearly killed the 16 year old. The 18 y o had left the house without letting anyone know (they are up visiting with their father) and their father grabbed the 14 & 16 y o and took them outside (it was around midnight), threw them on the ground and demanded to know where their sister was. They tried to tell their father that they didn't know but he did not beleive them. He then started to choke the 16 y o until she passed out. The 14 y o started yelling at him to get the f.... off of her sister and he then grabbed her and sat on her until she stopped cusing, the reson why was because she couldn't breathe with him on her. I immediatly called Child Protective Services and reported it. I then started to take steps to get them out of there and to go for sole legal custody. I also will try to get his parental rights terminated.I finally got to talk to my daughters and they confrimed what had happened but of course as most victims of abuse do, they minimized it saying "there are no marks, you know how daddy is he gets mad and then he is alright" They now say that they are not afraid of their father but yet they are planning to go to a friends house for 5 days or until he calms down because they don't want to say or do anything that would set him off agian. He was my abuser which is why I divorced him. He has two documented incidents of abusing they youngest child (this was the straw that broke the camles back) but still the judge gave him custody of the three oldest and visitation rights to the youngest. When I talked to the 16 y o I asked her if she knew that going to Oregon violated her probation (she plead guilty to a drug possion charge when an unprescribed vicodin was found in her backpack) and her answer was "Yep," and she said it like she was proud of it. I told her that I had been in contact with her Probation Officer and she said that the 16 y o would probably do time for probation violation. When asked why she went to Oregon her reply was " to hang out".I am so beyond knowing what to do and I can't even think.  Tammy
