OK. So this time in 48 hours, the funeral day will be over. I'm never good at funerals. It's normally me who starts everyone else off crying!! And I've never had to deal with anyone under the age of 78 dying before, let alone one of my peers...I am glad that there aren't going to be hymns. I couldn't cope with another funeral with 'Morning has Broken' and 'Abide with Me'. I find them just so impersonal. I found out yesterday that the songs will be: Gotta get thru this - Daniel Bedingfield (because his sister remembers them both singing it together)Thank you for the music - Abba (because it's a memory from where they/we used to work)Mmm Bop - Hanson (because it was the hit song when they took their last family holiday together) Sounds good to me. I'd rather have 'happy' music than a relic of a hymn that's been played at every funeral since the dawn of time. At least this way, it's personal.I'm not too sure how I'm going to handle it. It's still not real to me, although I'm still crying. His best friend is doing a reading - she's braver than me! I know I couldn't get through it. My two big songs at the moment are Pink - Who Knew and Faith Hill - There you'll be. They just sum it up...
