I just feel like I'm going backwards. I managed a few steps and since then nothing. I started to feel my toes again but now that's gone too, all I can do is go back to waiting. It's starting to really get me down now. I mean it was funny at first, you know all the jokes about hoppy, skippy etc and I laughed along too because I really thought that this was a temp mesasure, now it's starting to hurt me. I know these people don't mean it, they're my friends and family, they're trying to make light of the situation as they don't really know what to say. What they don't realise is that I go home and cry myself to sleep in pain. I cry because it hurts, I cry because I feel useless. How can such light hearted comments hurt me so much? I know if I sat down and told these people they were hurting me they'd stop but how do I approach it? I don't want to come across as miserable or always down because just now that's how it is. I lie to my friends and say I'm fine when really I'm not but I just can't take the truth. I'm sick of hearing how bad things are for me when I know there are people out there a million times worse than me. So I can't walk properly so what? There are people younger than me that have never walked in their lives. My son goes to school with a girl, they're 6, who has cerbal palsy and has never walked unaided and probably never will, so what right do I have to complain about it?
